Stratford Bus Trip 2013

On Wednesday, August 14th forty-seven May Courters and friends boarded a bus for Stratford Ontario to see a matinee of Fiddler On The Roof at the Festival Theatre.  On the way to Stratford we played Bus Bingo.  There were prizes for the winners as well as prizes for the first to register for the trip.  We were especially thankful to Mary Carusso for selling 15 tickets for this event.  Way to go Mary!  We arrived in Stratford in time to have lunch, shop and take some pictures of this picturesque town.  Our driver Phil then took us to the theatre where we enjoyed the trumpet fanfare before entering the building to see the play.

The concensus was that the play was both poignant and boisterously entertaining.  The music and dancing was exceptional and we delighted to hear Windsor's own Anna Atkinson perform her magic as the title character.

On our way home we stopped in Ingersoll for a delicious meal at the Elmhurst Inn and wandered the grounds before boarding our bus for our trip home.  There was a hushed silence as we awaited the pulling of the winning ticket for a 50/50 draw which meant a $140 win for the ticket holder and $140 for the club.  Ordinarily we watch a movie on the way home but we needed some quiet time on the rest of the trip back to Windsor.

Everyone expressed their pleasure at having spent an enjoyable day.  We are grateful to all who supported this fundraiser for programs which benefit the children and youth of the Windsor-Essex community.

A very special THANK YOU to Milka Brown, Past President and Projects Co-ordinator, for orchestrating this event.
